hi folks,
i know..boring question and i dont want any fanboys in here!! but.....
i want to go back to an nv card but im unsure of the next best thing:confused:
having seen the sparkle nx8600gt for £80.00 (p+p to ni incl)i was tempted....
im staying with win xp for a little while longer so dx10 isnt that big an issue at the mo..im just wondering on peeps thoughts as to the best pound/performance card at the mo.
muchly appreciated,
steve.

Wouldn't be an upgrade tbh, more like a sidestep, certainly not worth £80 just for DX10 (esp seeing as you aren't bothered anyway).

1280x1024 resolutions and below then just stick with what you have. 1440x900 and above I'd get the 8800GTS 640Mb model.

Definately not the 8600, would be a downgrade that, x1800 kicks its ass, even the x1950pro kicks its ass. :p

Only cards worth upgrading to from the x1800 are the 8800 GTS's id say, went from a 512mb x1800 to a 320mb GTS, and it absolutely destroys it, and thats in Dx9, doesn't matter if your not interested in Dx10 yet as a Dx10 card is still worth getting for Dx9 as they just can't be touched in it, im not interested in Dx10 either yet. :)

ahh.. the 8800 gts was gonna be my next choice :)
can get the 320mb version for a good price so will go for that i think..
cheers.
