ATI X1900 Instability

cheers concorde. tbh i'm not sure what you mean by getting rid of CCC and using ATT? i'm guessing you mean catalyst control centre and ATI Tool Tray.

i'm not too interested in overclocking just want to be able to use my PC and play games occassionally without it crashing.

could you let me have a bit more info in what you think i should do?

ATT allows for voltage and fan control.

All the cards I've had allowed under volting at 3D clocks, therefore you would be able to lower the volts and up the fan speeds to keep it stable.

ATT is better than CCC anyway, less bloated etc.

CR.

Well, I received the fan yesterday. Good old OcUK. These are the results of the same 3dMark test straight out of the box with the fan on silent mode.

The GPU temps at idle are about 10 deg lower :)

The test did not crash out as it used to.

For what it's worth, this fan is still quieter on it's maximum setting than the stock fan was on it's default settings.
