ati4870 bottle neck

i hav standard q6600 will this bottle neck a ati4870 i heard you need at lest 3.4ghz 2 get full power? mine runs at 2.40 ghz
 
Interested to know the answer to this too, my core 2 duo is stuck at 2.5ghz and won't overclock any higher due to my terrible choice of motherboard.

Very unlikely,the Q6600 is a very fast processor even at stock.

Having said that though an overclock wouldn't hurt,most will do 3GHZ on stock volts and with a vcore bump 3.2GHZ+ in most cases.
 
There shouldn't be a bottleneck if you play at a high resolution.

If you play at a lower resolution just increase the AA+AF settings to give the graphic card a bit of a workout.
