Hello,

Yesterday I got a BSOD due to 'atikmdag.sys' (used BSOD checker), I shrugged it off because I thought it was a one time only thing but it just happened again.

I've searched the internet for fixes but there's quite a lot of different answer, how should I go around fixing this issue?

Thanks, running a AMD 7850 with the latest beta drivers

When did you install the latest betas? I've had this before, I just rolled back to the previous version of the catalyst drivers and it went away. Missed a month and updated after and all was well.

I'd start by installing the latest stable drivers.

Have you got your card overclocked at all?

1) Uninstall current driver
2) Run DriverSweeper in safemode, select ATI bits, remove, reboot
3) Install desired drivers

A lot of people suffer BSOD with atikmdag.sys as it gets left over from previous versions

I used to get this very BSoD, and yea I know Google'ing doesn't help that much...and there is no straight forward fix, just lots of theories.

I used to get about 5 a week, and just before I bought a new card, I thought I'd replace the stock cooler for my AC Accelero TT Pro, and touch would I've not had it BSoD since.....coincidence or not,it fixed my issues.

If this is not an option, I'd do the uninstall of CCC, driver sweep AMD, and check device manager for the video driver and remove it.

Reboot and reinstall drivers.... with a little luck it might have just been conflicting drivers or something.

Bumping an old thread here, but how did you resolve in the end? It's happened to me seven times in the last two evenings! I assumed it was recent overclocking until running a BSOD checker!
