im just about to do my dirst winows update since fresh install and ive come across this in the update list "ATK SYSTEM atk0110 ACPI Utility "
Does anyone know exactly what it is and do i need it ? ive read a few googles and its hit n miss with various people, some say its installed with no issues, other say they installed and have had endless issues

what should i do ?
 
but what exactly does it do ?
and what happens if i decide not too
just abit dubious as ive never seen it before thats all

what it did for me was randomly blue screen my windows 7 machine. until i replaced psu, cpu and ram. then realised the only common thing between them was windows updated always installing this ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH


but i got a nice little upgrade out of it
 
Well it can't have been a driver update issue if the problem was solved when you changed hardware....which means the driver update used a part of your hardware that was faulty hence why you only got the BSOD when it was being utilised.

ATK*** is always installed here, it's required for proper power management etc.

apologies, the hardware changed made no difference at all.

only when i stopped this installing did the blue screens stop
