OK, I've been dabbling with a bit of astrophotography, all planetary so far, with point and shoot cameras on a universal mount.

I've been gifted a few canon EF lenses, so I bought a Canon 1000D in order to use them, and it seems to be rated as an astro DSLR for beginners.

Question is, what exactly do I need to mount it to my Meade AR6-AT? I understand I need a T mount for the camera, but the actual adapter seems to be specific for each scope, whereas I'd have expected them to all be identical 1.25" eyepiece adapters.....

Also would I be better off getting a 2 inch adapter instead, as the scope has a 2 inch focuser (with a 1.25" reducer for standard eypieces).

Any help or advice (or "buy this" links I can just click! :) ) much appreciated....

Honestly, go here:

Give them a ring. They are the most helpful people you will meet. They don't just sell them, its their hobby, and they really will sell you what you require.
the range is there:

Usually you need the t-ring for the camera, and then the adapter for the t-ring to the scope. Either way, they can advise on the best ones and best way to do it.
