Attaching headers and POST on a build

Ive got the motherboard in with processor and memory installled.

Just putting the headers in. I want to just do the minimum here to make sure it works before I go on.

Can I just connect the power switchheader, and then switch it on and will I then get a beep that is the POST telling me eveything is OK?

You need the graphics card too. Unless it has onboard graphics. Make sure the speaker is plugged in too

Ok, great,thanks. What should I be listening for. Is it just one single beep means everything is OK, and if it beeps continuously there's something wrong?
