Attention SETI crunchers

Was looking about the other day and found this new optimsed SETI application, have tried it out the other day and on my P4 it has reduced the time to do a WU considerably (from about 17000 sec to 13500 for a WU worth 65 credits). and this is compared to cruch3rs optimised application. well worth it for anyone out there in SETI land.

make sure you get the right one as the intel only ones don't work on AMD machines but there are generic ones as well. i used the new rev 2.0 ones.

hmm, I wonder if its still doing the work? iirc there was something about some optimised clients not actually doing the sci.

I don't use the screensaver so can't tell what (if anything) its doing. but doesn't SETI send out 3 of the same work unit then do some comparisions, you only get the credit if it passes some sort of tests. and so far i have got all the credit for the WU i've done.

its also has been mentioned on the forums at berkeley a fair bit, and i have thought if it wasn't doing what it said on the tin, then someone would have complained.

Have just installed the SSE3 P4 app. I have used an enhanced app before (can't remember if it was crunch3rs or not though) and they do make quite a big difference, so will be interested in how this new one does.
