Hi ATM i have a bog standard NTE 5 box

I was told it's better to have a ADSL filtered one, My sister is having her phone line installed tomorrow, do you think the engineer would let me nab one of the offical BT Adsl filters?

For installtion all I need to do is screw off the old faceplate and install new one, no? None of this crone too wire malarkey.

Where there are no extensions involved, that is correct. Any potential extensions will be wired into the krone block on the back of the BT socket faceplate though.

It's worth asking though I'm not sure if the regular phone line install guys will have the ADSL faceplates. You can pick them up easily enough for a tenner anyway so it's no big deal.

Wouldn't have thought so. I know they fit them for free when people have problems with ADSL so it's possible they'll supply one if you ask.

do they have a proper name or is it just "ONe of those filtered adsl socket faceplate thingys"
