Hi All,

About to do a bit of an upgrade and I've noticed that it appears you need to have the computer with your itunes library on for the ATV2 to get the films/video files/music/whatever off it.

My plan was....

ATV2 in the bedroom with the XBMC software also on
Mac Mini under the TV, left in sleep mode with itunes loaded
Time Capsule 3TB with the itunes library and XBMC video files stored on it also

My understanding is, in leaving the mac mini in sleep mode it will enable the ATV2 to still access the library for itunes content, and the XBMC content will go straight to the time capsule as needed.

Am I right, or am I totally wrong?

For xbmc that will be fine, as you will be adding it as a network volume so it should just be seen. As for iTunes I was always under the impression home sharing meant the computer needed to be on, but wouldn't work in sleep mode as the system would be active to process the file sharing
