Hey all, just got a Z77 setup, but I've just checked the motherboard and it has an ATX12v connector in 2x4pin cofiguration (effectively looks like an 8 pin connector). Now, my PSU is a 4/5 year old Antec TruePower Quattro 850w, and from memory it only has the one 4pin 12v ATX rail. Would I be able to split this into two 4pin connectors (and if so, is this what I need?), or do I need to get a new PSU? The Antec has been running perfectly, never any stability problems, sudden BSODs, whining or sudden shut-downs, but I'm not sure if it had a part to play in my old 775 Asus P5B mobo blowing a cap last week.

tl;dr - Old 850w Antec TruePower PSU, do I keep for my 1155 build and use an adapter for ATX12v, or get a new PSU?

is your 4 pin a 2x2 socket or a 4x1?
if it is a 2x2 socket you can just use that. That's what i had to do on my new mobo :)
