ATX Cable/Mobo Problem

Hi all,

Whilst building my rig I've run into a problem with the ATX 24 pin power cable and it's slot on the mobo. The Mobo is a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H and my PSU is a Seasonic X-Series 760w fully modular PSU. Basically, the cable just won't go into the slot on the board, even when using a level of force I'm uncomfortable with. I had to RMA my previous board because one of the ATX pins was bent, which I fear may have damaged the ATX power cable. What should I do? Try again using more force? Try to return the PSU cable? I don't have a spare PSU or mobo to test either one against either...

Many thanks,

Ozzy

I'd check the PSU's ATX connector to make sure all the pins are lined up and if not tweak them back into position. If you've bent some motherboard pins then you should be able to tweak them too.
