ATX CPU power lead extension

Hi,

Is this the right lead to extend the 12v CPU power supply? I've got a case with a bottom mounted PSU and the blasted CPU power socket is right at the top and it just doesn't quite fit. The motherboard plug is fine though. Are these cables universal for this?

I'm in the same boat, will this cable still work if my psu only has 4pin to? just leave the extra ones unused?

Yep, they detach from eack other.

Yea, i see you can detach at the male end, but if my psu output is only the 4pin type, i can still just use that in half of the 8pin?

I see, I was to hasty in answering and not reading the full question.
It should work as the 8 pin on the motherboard would be the same, which can take 8 or 4 pin power supplies.
