Atx Ext Cable make Psu Quieter

I recently got a atx cable to extend it so I could rotate my motherboard around 90 degrees and I noticed it somehow made the psu quieter? How is this possible? I just dont get it.

You rotated the motherboard 90 degrees? What case do you have?

What was the orientation of the PSU before? Was the fan down? Is it now up?

It shouldnt of changed the Noise level of it but before i was contemplating getting another psu because of its noise

Perhaps the new position now blocks or absorbs some of the sound?

Dont think so but might of made some differnce, ah well im not complaining!
