I'm planning on buying ryzen 5 1600 soon and will need a new mobo and ram due the the generation gap between it and my current setup.

I only game on my pc other than the normal web browsing and using microsoft packages.
I have a midi tower case. I plan to overclock at some point once set up.
I will only be using one graphics card for the foreseeable future.

Maybe a stupid question but should i just buy an atx mobo or could my needs be met by buying a micro atx board and saving a few quid? pros and cons appreciated

cheers

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £201.04
(includes shipping: £11.10)

would take the B350 chip set as it can reach same overclocks as x370 chipsets . Gaming 3 can also run Ram fine at 3200mhz with most brands and no issues .
Personally go for mATX to save case space - and can sense your not going to be using multi cards which would need the more expensive chipset and benefit from ATX board to allow more gap between 2 cards for temps

There actually the ones i was looking at didnt know if i was just being a tight arse or not but If I'm paying for features i wont be using i dont see the point.

Wouldn't need to get another power supply would I ?

If your PSU has 24 pin and 8 pin for the CPU connector on the board our all good, unless its really really old, 200w or a brand that has never been heard off- then It would be worth the upgrade .
