ATx psu mod (bench/lab supply)

Hi all

Been reading about doing this
converting an ATX psu to use as a standard 12v 0r 5v supply.

Im thinking it would supply 4 cctv cameras 12v no more than about an amp each.

Has anyone done it ?
is it safe for 24/7 use ?
