Hi

I currently have a GA-Z97X-Gaming 5.

I am wondering if anyone can give me some advice on what Micro ATX/Mini ITX Motherboard i can get that will fit in a Carbide Series Air 240 High Airflow Case that's the cheapest but will give me the same gaming performance as the current one i own.

i bought the Z97X in the thought i would get an overclockable CPU at a later date and use all of its features but at the moment it's just not needed.

Thanks.

Im unsure what you mean about "Give me the same gaming performance"? What do you feel a motherboard does in regards to gaming performance?

I would imagine any of the Z97 boards will do just fine as long as it fits the case and your budget. I would imagine most people buy higher spec boards just for E peen or aesthetics.

If its of any use my MSI Z97M Gaming does everything I personally need and more.

See if there's any good deals on the used market, I picked up an MSI Z97i for 40 quid and it works flawlessly. In terms of performance, any Z97 is going to give you what you need, just make sure the features are right (M.2 etc).

I have the same case as you, I'd recommend going mATX over ITX simply to fill all the space. Unless you want a bottom mounted rad, then you'd need ITX.
