I have a full ATX case but only 1 ssd and a 1070 video card... Is there any real down sides, (other than the obvious lack of slots).. I do a mild overclock to 4.4

As long as it's a Z87/Z97 board overclocking should be fine. It's just a case of the itx boards having less of everything (pci-e slots, sata and usb ports) when compared to a full size board.

Why would you put in ITX board in an ATX case? There are ITX boards made for OC like the ASUS maximus impact boards. They aren't necessary though. Any board with a decent number of power phases and VRM heatsinks will be fine. Must be Z87/Z97.
