Apparently they are a throwback to what made Audeze great in the first place, the early, pre-Fazor model, which many people prefer to the full price current model.

The $599 price is the holiday special price the retail is $799.

"Holiday Special Price $599 (MSRP $799)"

So over here we would be looking @ £799, better to buy a second hand pre-fazor pair.

Definitely, I thought they were priced well at $599 but $799 is just meh!

Will do, I have owned the old pre-fazor LCD2 and the fazor LCD2.
