Audi owners in here!

Not really. It's not the most plush of interiors, but it's (or was at release) current gen infotainment and systems. The design is rather Marmite (I quite like the better spec'd versions), but to say it's 10 years old is just wrong.

I disagree, but will respect your opinion.

It's not an opinion, it's a fact. The aesthetics are obviously a personal preference, but to compare the A1's situation to that of a 2013 8P A3 is an injustice. The A1 looks retro (read 'old' if you like), but has current generation technologies and infotainment. The A3 (8P) doesn't just look it, it IS old, it's from 2003, the infotainment is still RNS-E based (old), and even the climate is of a similar style to that of the B6 A4, available from 2001 onwards!

Sounds like it's old shape if everyone on OcUK advised against it - the new A3 is a decent car, the old A3 was well past it's sell by date :p

Buying a 2013 old shape would have been like sitting in a car from 2003 :p

new shape!

the 1.6 tdi boggo spec was the part advised against by you lot :p

its enough for what I need, the petrol would have been nice but it was at least £2k more

it has the sat nav card though - cruise control would have been nice but other than that im not too bothered. The s-line is nice but a lot of money for window dressing really (£5k-£7k extra !)

yeah the bluetooth is great - but im hoping the cable will let me at least skip tracks etc from the car controls? might use the other memory card slot if you can just fill it with mp3's and it work?

Not 100% sure on the A3, but I can change track via steering wheel controls and bluetooth in my A4.

You can indeed just fill the other SD card slot with music.

So picked up my A6 Avant on Friday.

2009 2.0 TDI 170bhp Avant with 66k on the clock. Big car but lovely to drive compared to my 2004 Focus.

Has lots of Toys although has no bluetooth music playing capability which sucks and also does not have the AMI port in the glove box so no way of connecting it :( Guess it is time to load up 2 SD cards full of music and to buy the latest satnav CD.

Obligatory dealer photos as its all I have

Is it Expensive? I have bought 2 32gig SD cards, I am just loathed to download shed loads of music and fill them up, Would rather do it on the fly via spotify or some such

The volume knob in the centre can be pushed left and right to skip tracks when connected via bluetooth. You can also program the * button on the steering wheel to skip track.

I've just had Autoglass replace my windshield due to a crack and all they had was the acoustic glass with sun band. Wasn't going to say no to that.

Still don't get how the A1 interior is 'retro' or 10 years old.

10 year old A2 interior:

I've ordered a new A3 Sportback Sport edition through the NHS lease, looking forward to taking delivery of it but can anyone confirm if there's a USB port in the arm rest that I can use to plug/charge my iPhone into?

Thanks!

There is a proprietary "AMI" connector port, you can buy cables online for this or try and get the dealer to throw one in free when you collect the car.
