Audi owners in here!

If DAB comes standard on the new A3 I assume it will on the new A4.

Checked the spec sheet on the Audi site and it does have DAB as standard.

EDIT: Thought you said new, not newer, ignore.

You'll be looking at black edition spec at least for that I would think, or expect to be paying through the nose for B&O. Certainly the last generation only came with half leather at that spec, not full leather. But you did get DAB and BT.

I have been looking at the black edition, but they seem really rare in S-tronic guise, every one i've seen in person has been a manual. There are autos about but few and far between. Oh yea, i forgot to say, i want an auto again :p

I dont understand, why is everyone doing this? Does anyone think it looks better than a screen thats properly integrated into the dash?

It's like car designers have thought 'Tablets are proper wyked lets get in on that'.

Totally agree, it's an instant put off for me.

Not everyone thanks :p

Yes looks terrible but the full TFT instrument cluster looks superb with the navigation map on it.

It does make it look a load better. And is a much better implementation than the MFD on my 530d. Although I do really like that too.

I had a look at it on the new Q7, and it is REALLY a NECESSITY on that car. They had one without it in the showroom, and it looks just like the old one, which looks just like a 10 year old A6. How anyone could spend ~£50k on a new Audi with a dash that looks 10-15 years old is beyond me.

I absolutely agree. It does look terrible. At least the A6/A8/Q7 (I think the Q7, I wasn't looking hard enough) does disappear into the dash, which makes perfect sense if you're getting the virtual cockpit anyway. But there is nothing worse than a tablet stuck to the dash when everything is turned off.

Anyone had any dealing with Worthing Audi?

Deliberating what to do. They have offered me a spec amendable RS3 which I can have before Christmas. As opposed to the RS3 I have on order with JCT 600 in Doncaster which will be here mid February.

To make this more complicated Worthing have offered me 3% discount but because it's such a large spec amend it will be subject to the price increase from the 1st of October which is £700. So that 3% discount is in reality only worth like £700 and not £1500 when compared to the JCT a car which I ordered before the price increase.

So I spoke to the JCT and said what can do you do and they have managed to get one of the new options (carbon fibre inlays) added as an option on my car by speaking to Audi UK without becoming subject to the price increase and they then offered to pay £500 towards them (they are £750)

So judging by yesterday's conversation I could likely get them to pay for all of that to keep the deal alive but then I have to wait for the car. But it means there is nothing in the price other than one price gets me the car 2 months early.

Other dilemmas are of course is it a good idea getting a new car like that in the depth of winter (pretty irrelevant given I am planning on having it for 5 years so it will see plenty of winter)

The other dilemmas are how desperate am I for the car (not very). How much will it been a 65 car as opposed to a 16 car hurt its residuals (unsure) and waiting gives me more time to save up some contingency fund for it. Then there is buying a car from a dealership down south and likely never going back there meaning I have no relationship with the dealership if I have any warranty issues as I will end up using a local dealership.

Why does it matter when you get the car? It's not as if we get arctic conditions in the winter...

65 plate or 16...I guess if the car is 16 then it could be 'perceived' newer/more valuable than a 65 plate. I don't think it would put me off tbh or make any major difference to residuals in the long run.

I just love filling my car with wee, bought a 10 litre bottle off ebay with a crappy pipe to help filling and managed to get loads over myself, now I smell like a tramp. I'm buying a petrol or electric car next. Same thing happened last time too, sod doing it every 5000 miles too, absolute pita!

Apparently my S6 doesn't have an affected E189 EU5 diesel engine.

You might want to check again, using this site and entering a capetcha

I did it on the above link, and it said no problems, then went through the Audi site to the owners site and indeed my car will be recalled apparently.

Try that link.
The other might have been for a different recall.
