Audi owners in here!

I think a lot of stuff is for show like enable the rear lights to come on with the DRL's and sweeping needles on the instrument cluster on start up. There are however some things like the footwell lights that you can enable that are part of an options package that you may not have.

The options on the car are Technology pack & Comfort Pack.

theres a fair few options that you can enable with VCD's.
youll need the most uptodate software but once you buy the cable you'll get the software updates free. Ive never tried running it on a mac I use a windows 7 laptop

VCDS is a very useful tool, not just for these little tweeks but for diagnosing and testing pretty much anything wrong with the car. Oh and on my A8 with Air Suspension I can configure custom ride heights.

A3 facelift has been unveiled:

Audi has updated the A3 to bring it inline with the rest of its product range, adding an updated MMI, new connectivity tech, new engines and a redesigned exterior. The S3 also benefits from a power hike of 10bhp and 15lb ft of torque.

The biggest change to the new A3 range, aside from the exterior design tweaks, is the introduction of a new 1-litre TFSI three-cylinder motor, as well as a newly developed four-cylinder 2-litre TFSI. The three-cylinder becomes the entry level engine in the A3 range, producing 115bhp and 147.5lb ft of torque.

Also new for the A3 is a completely redesigned 2-litre TFSI four-cylinder petrol engine. Available with either 150bhp or 184bhp, it is joined by a choice of either a six speed manual transmission of a seven speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox.

So what if I was looking at a Mazda? It's a hatchback just like the a3! You forgot how I said I want a hatchback. Unlike some folks I am not a fanboy and consider different makes of hatchback for my price range

The Mazda3 is more like an A3 than a 2 is.

Still doesn't really explain why someone with a £30k budget would be considering a Mazda2 in the first place though.

Just because I have 20k doesn't mean the best ideal car for me has to be 20k.

Had the Mazda or Honda civic tickle my fancy. I would get that.

I also had the merc a class and 1 series BMW on my list but scrapped those after reading reviews. And test driving them

But it is to my eyes. . New exterior and interior stuff plus new engine options mate.

New engine too mate.

Just No. What next each trim level is a different "car"?

Facelift for me is a new car imo. Call it a 1.5 up upgrade instead of a v2 upgrade it that makes sense

Yes a facelift is a minor upgrade - but it's still not a new car. On the whole most facelift parts can be applied to a pre-facelift car if you are that way inclined (not that the cost is normally worth it).
