Audi owners in here!

2009 A6 2.7TDI Manual S Line, PDC and Satnav MMI High

Had it 5weeks, Lovely Car. Very smooth and powerful. Even more so with a DTUK CRD-T Box :D

Can someone explain to me model years and cars please.
The current A4s being sold are they now the 2014 model?
As chap who bought the lovely A5 on previous page said it was a 2014 model.

I am aware that next year at some stage Audi will launch a new A4, designed to be 200kilos lighter etc, and refined in God knows how many ways, but rumour would suggest it won't arrive till the middle of the year, and likely Sept for deliveries from what I can tell. Would that be a 2015 model? or the 2014 model?

I ask as the current Audi books and online business are quoting a 2.0L diesel 150 engine, for some variants (not the 136 TDIe which is still quoted, but any models I see around showrooms are 143 from what I can see. Is this 2013 models versus 2014 models?

Yeah the factory changes over to the following years model in June/July with deliveries starting in August I think it is, so if you ordered a new car now it'll be the 2014 version with what ever kit it comes with.

First post here but long time reader of the OCUK motors forum.

Thought I'd just mention my car, aka money pit which is also my daily driver. Will stick up a few pics in the next few days.

1994 Audi S2 Avant (B4)
Quattro - 2.2 20v Turbo

Had the car for a few years now. Still goes very well for an old un!

Notice it's mostly modern stuff mentioned here but thought someone might find it interesting.

He's in the USA where they are very very early with new model years. You can generally buy 2014 cars not long after 2013 begins. They don't tend to equate with the model years in Europe (And often what they refer to as a 2014 will be a 2013 over here).

Audi '14's came out here a couple of weeks ago. I'd have probably bought the '13 instead but ended up getting quite a discount on the new one. They had a few '13 S5's but weren't prepared to make the deal worthwhile for sacrificing a model year.

I've got the Tech pack I think so beep beep reverse warning (couldn't live without that. cruise control which is nice whenever there isn't much traffic.

You need sat nav of course. Economy of the 2.0TDI is excelent. I drive every gear to the redline all the time, although i do change up when i get to the speed limit or am behind traffic. I get about 35mpg. I don't think it would be hard at all to average 45mpg.

If you are only managing 35MPG from the 2.0TDI (150PS I assume), then what is the point in having the diesel?!

35MPG is appauling considering the car/engine combination.

I'll be collecting my new A3 on the 1st September, and that's manufacturing year 2014. They were initially built in the middle of July, and have DAB radios as standard - The 2013 ones prior to that you had to pay for the DAB as an extra.

Bit cheeky.

Seriously?

For a start hitting the redline each time is fairly pointless in a 2 litre turbodiesel because the boost tails off before the redline. Secondly 35mpg average from an 2 litre ecodiesel hatch is horrendous, almost certainly caused by your bizarre and probably ineffective driving style.

Change gear once the power begins to tail off, not at the redline. You'll go faster and you'll probably use less fuel.

Christ sake Fox, not everyone is a moron. I merely used it as a figure if speech. As soon as my car gets to about 4k revs I change up because from 4k onwards it starts to rapidly lose grunt. I don't pay for my fuel which is why I don't care too much for economy and also why I have no idea what mpg is attainable in a 2.0 diesel lol. I'll be in an s3 come January. Diesels are horrible things.

Why say one thing if you meant something quite obviously different?

As far as I'm concerned redlining a car means accelerating and using as much gear as possible, just because in a diesel that's not actually the red line doesn't mean I get confused by the term.

Nice! Those engines where pretty good i thought. What figures is it creating now with the map?

Not entirely sure with out putting it on the roller but circa 230bhp and 550nm

Not the quickest car 0-60 but 60+ on a roll there is oooodles of torque.

6th @ 70mph and within a few seconds of pushing the peddle your doing 100+

People who have bought from dealerships recently, did you get offered a lifeshine service and product? and the dealerships version of GAP, Vehicle Price Protection?

Did you buy GAP elsewhere or ignore altogether?

Thoughts?
