Audi owners in here!

Thanks Fox but why do you think it would spoil it? I have mulled the idea over a few times since Christmas. I was not thinking of adding some tacky LED strip myself, i was looking at purchasing full factory fitted headlight units.

There were no factory fitted headlights with led drls for your model, it never got them so fitting them would look obviously aftermarket and tacky.

I've got a B7 A4 Avant TDI and really happy with it.

It's a 170 but has had the DPF, EGR and EGR cooler removed. It has had a mild map too so might be sneaking over the 200 mark.

It isn't the best drive in the world and the diesel can either feel like a rocket or feel as gutless as heck but it is far better than the 1.9tdi engine in terms of driveability.

One mod I've done to mine is fit the RS4 rear roll bar. Feels a bit better from behind!

How much did that little lot set you back? Is it much noisier?

:o I was told it was an RS4 kit, as I'm not a mega petrol head i took it on word. :o

I didn't know about the headlights either. Thanks for the info.

It's in the glovebox. You'll either have just a CD changer, or a CD changer and the Audi Music Interface (AMI), which has interchangeable cables (purchasable separately) to allow access to iPhone/iPod, USB devices, or Bluetooth devices.

Retrofit is relatively simple, but you do have to get a replacement glovebox due to the original not having space for both the changer and the AMI (you could in theory drop the changer and replace it with the AMI, but then you can't have the onboard user's manual on CD, nor can you perform MMI system updates (separate from Sat Nav updates which are from the DVD drive in the boot). Took me maybe two hours to do and cost me £250~

Have you done updates on your MMI? What improvements were there, also what improvements is there on the sat nav 2011 version to the 2008 version lol. And did you get them from audi? Wouldn't mind some info about it if you fancy emailing my trust ;)

It's not 'completely different' - different colours don't make it completely different. And they are sport seats not 'bucket seats', proper bucket seats would be annoying anyway.

My mistake. Regarding the external differences, my mate picked out an S-Line from a bunch of cars and said "that looks amazing compared to the one you're driving", as I was test driving a standard A3 at the time. He isn't an enthusiast in any shape or form and he outright noticed the difference.

The Audi one - its run by the same bunch who underwrite the BMW one.

Didn't know that, thanks!

Bit of a side note, has anyone heard any news on Audi releasing a universal phone cradle? I know they're behind the times when it comes to this. I read a snippet on Audi-sport that they should be released soonish.

Funny you should bring the phone cradle up as I am currently looking at handsfree/ipod connectivity for my car.

I have been recommended the Bury 'Music' or something along them lines, only thing I am struggling with is the seperate screen and where it would go in the car without looking to obtrusive.
