Audi S5 B9 options?

So I had the B9 S4 which is pretty much the same car. Essentials for me when buying were:
- Heads up display
- B&O sound system (stock system is a bit weak)
- Digital cockpit
In hindsight I would have wanted:
- Adaptive suspension
- Sports diff

Options that I would like but could live without probably are:
- adaptive suspension (knowing how rare it is that people spec them)
- panoramic roof (same again seems a hard to find option)
- love the red leather but think the other half might balk at it as she hates colourful seat like the cinnamon leather in her sisters BMW.
I'm trying to keep on the right side of 30k and going to keep this car for awhile.
Just finding the prices have shot up as everything has, should have looked last year or early this year as my current car isn't Ulez compliant. Wonderful thing hindsight.

I nearly went for an S5 sportback before my C43, the issue I found is that specs are all over the place and some options are really hard to come by on any single car, namely sports diff, HUD, pan roof and adaptive suspension.

Was there a particular driving situation that made you feel like this?
I had a B8.5 S4 with sports diff, and it was all very good - not the most dynamically exciting car in the world but you could do skids in it the few times I took it for a few laps on a track day (it was my tow car) it seemed to help the rear rotate in an otherwise understeery car.
I've since been looking at B9s among other things and have been wondering whether sports diff is needed. The option seems rarer than the the B8 limiting car choice massively.
I still like the gran coupe and think the B58 is a lovely engine but every time I see a S5 past by I love the understated looks of it. Just seems sleeker and a little more modern.

Sports diff isn’t needed, I’d have had it in hindsight as when I came to sell mine it would have brought a £3k premium (based on what the specialist who bought it from my said). Otherwise it wouldn’t have crossed my mind
Adaptive suspension is a very nice to have though. I compromised on this when I bought mine as it had every other option I wanted at the time and the price was right. Mine had the larger wheels so really could have done with it.
Just an update, left a deposit and waiting for this to be brought down to my local dealership, missed out on a previous car but this one has got a lot of options.
The ad on autotrader is bereft of details but got some specs on here.
Also its a pain in the backside finding details on what each of the additional pack contain. Anyone got an easy way of getting individual car specs?

Nice motor, but damn, 35k?!
I’m fairly sure you need the VIN - you used to be able to obtain this from the Audi diesel emissions site through the reg but it seems they’ve stopped this.
Hopefully someone else will be able to provide some info.
If it’s an approved used, though, the actual Audi website should have the full spec list
That car was up for £30k last summer, with 4,000 less miles on it.
Possibly even the same dealer given the 470 figure each time.
Bad time to be buying a car if you don't really need to be buying right now.
I've watched prices creep up slowly and unfortunately with ulez in October I've left my car change till the last minute. Totally agree that's it's overpriced but it's the market right now.
My budget has gone from 15-20k to this, missed out on one up for 32k but was lacking a lot of nice options that make this one a little more special.
State of the market right now is ridiculous.
Obviously it's your money but would it not be prudent to either wait it out or buy a stopgap car to cover you until the market returns to a sort of normality? (This is exactly what i have done but I realise it doesn't work for everyone!)
Are you confident you aren't getting carried away? Starting with a budget of £15k - £20k then putting a deposit on a £35k car that isn't worth £35k sounds like a very costly car purchase route!
I'm also not convinced the price is being dictated by the market, the car is just overpriced. Yes used cars have gone up but I've seen lots of cars at main dealers advertised within a few k of the WBAC valuation and even seen a few where they are virtually the same price. WBAC are only offering £27k for that car. No way I'd be paying an £8k premium against WBAC already inflated market pricing in the current climate.
The car just isn't worth £35k, they are trying to charge more because of the options list when in reality options add little to nothing to the cars value.

Agree with many of your points and definitely overpriced, time is ticking for me and i just hate changing cars because of the headache of selling privately. The dealership are giving me a favourable px value which is offsetting the higher initial cost somewhat.

In perspective my best mate brought one brand new around 2017 and through a broker paid 43k brand new with about £3-4k of options so base price would have been around £40k.
Absolutely no way my wallet or sanity could stomach paying £35k for a 5 year old car that was £40k new.
I'd be worried that in a couple of years time it'll be worth <£15k and end up losing nearly a grand a month.
You'd probably lose less on a RS4/5

I bought a B9 s5 cabriolet coming up on 4 years ago, Audi recently offered me £35k PX for it but I cant find a car i want to replace it with.
OK the mileage is low (22k cause covid you know) but I've seen Audi selling a very comparable car for nearly 40k.
They don't do a petrol S5 any more, and they don't do a convertible anymore so I think I'm gonna pay the bubble and keep it for now. Looked into both Alfa and BWM alternates but nothing grabs my fancy.
I didn't want the red leather but its grown on me over the last few years. B&O sound system is good, virtual dashboard is great.
Sports Diff i wouldn't bother with, I like the s5 cause its fast but boring is you know what i mean, It never feels like its gonna jump me and thrown me in a ditch no matter how stupid i get. If you want sporty handling the go buy and alfa or a BWM.
I don't think adaptive shocks are needed either, the b9 S5 is firm but not spine shattering like older models or s-line Audis I've driven in the past.
My audi connect has expired now so im not using most of the infotainment stuff now just my phone, im not paying audi £14 a month for google maps and remote unlocking.

Got a call from the dealership, they are putting new tyres on and should be ready for Wednesday.
