Audidgy 2 ZS -> X-Fi worth it ?

I already have awesome sound with my Audidgy 2 ZS and Alesis amplified monitors (and XLR cables btw), so is it worth upgrading to an X-Fi card ?

Also would I get a performance increase in games such as Oblivion and BF2 ?

CPU usage of Audigy 2 and X-Fi are very similar. The benchmarks I saw did suggest the X-Fi uses slightly less CPU cycles, but only by about 0.1%.

Definitely not worth it if you're just talking about performance in games - you wouldn't notice the difference at all. In fact, X-Fi over onboard soundchip isn't even noticeable, apart from maybe in benchmarks.

As for sound quality - it would be an improvement for sure, but probably not enough to knock yer socks off. If you listen to a lot of music then it may be worth it I guess. Just don't expect it to be like night and day is all.

installed mine this morning and have to say im very happy with it. the bass and treble detail are leagues ahead of the audigy 2 it replaced
