Audigy 2 Platinum eX questions

Just sold my X-Fiu so im looking for a replacement and im quite liking the look of this. You seem to get a lot for the £60 that it costs.

Does anyone know what EAX level it supports, EAX 1 2 3 or 4? I know its omly 6.1 sound but ive only got 6.1 speakers anyway.

Seems to be well worth the extra few quid over the audigy 4 oem.

Before we can recommend anything, why did you sell the X-Fi?

It just didnt sound right, it sounded muffled in games and it annoyed me that i kept forgetting to switch modes before firing a game up.

But i did use the front connectors hence the reason i was looking at the platinum eX

In my experience Music on the Audigy 2 sounded muffled and on the X-Fi it's nice and clear again, same with games :confused:

There are an awful lot of settings on the X-Fi though, did you play around with all of them? I found I can just leave this in gaming mode with CMSS Stereo Surround + Crystalizer on and music sounds the same as Entertainment mode and Games work and sound great.

As I've found the X-Fi to be superior in every way to my old Audigy 2 (aside from the price...) I wouldn't really recommend a lesser card over it.
