Audigy 2 + Vista = Low Volume

goto the speakers properties, levels tab and make sure "play control" is on 100.

i had no volume problems with the audigy2 vista drivers. but i do the find the sound quality is awful - so i'm using the x-fi drivers. if you download the .exe, then unzip/unrar it and inside is a folder called setup. inside that is a setup.exe - run that and it installs fine (make sure you un-install the audigy drivers first). it sounds much better. :)

as for cmss2, i'm not sure if it's functional or not - but i do have the option to enable it - this is because i've installed eax console from my original audigy2 driver cd. browse the cd to

\audio\eaxcon

and run the setup from within. if you get an installshield error, download and run this first....

i only have a stereo setup so can't tell if it works or not. :o

I had the same problem and many other problems with Creatives drivers, kept crashing repeatedly :(.

Annoyed me so much I reverted back to onboard sound, works perfectly, just isn't as good as a seperate card.

I can't be bothered with Creative any more, they are awful with drivers & support.

Right, I am not home this evening so I will try the X-FI drivers tomorrow :)

I don't have my original install CDs so is there any chance you can email me that EAX folder or something please?

Right, I downloaded the ISO, extracted all the files... and try and run the setup.exe within EaxSet, and I get the following error:

Tried doing all the recommended solutions, various reboots etc... and nothing helps :(

extract the whole iso into a folder on your hard disk. now browse to the \alchemy folder and copy the file "engine32.cab" into the eaxset folder and that should do it. now run setup and it should work.

i hope cmss works after all this. :p
