Hey, the firewire break box thing that comes with the soundcard. Will it work alright if you use another firewire port, as opposed to the one that's on the soundcard? Bought one of these off the MM a while ago, and this is the only time i've actually used it. The breakout box refuses to work if it's using the soundcard firewire one.

Any idea why?

It dosent need the firewire cable to work, just the ADlink cable. All the firewire cable does is allow the front firewire port on the box to work.

Did you put a floppy power connector on the soundcard itself as it needs it to power the breakout box. Take one of the optial covers off and look for a red light to see its getting power

Alright, that's ok then. It powers up when I use my other firewire port, so yay.
