Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro external unit not working under Vista

I've recently upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition and I'm having problems with the external unit that came with my Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro.

I'm using the latest Vista drivers from Creative's website and the ports on the actual sound card work fine. However, the external unit's power light is permanently off and no sound comes out through my headphones/amp connected to it.

Going into Creative's Audio Console, my sound card is listed as "SB Audigy 2 ZS". I don't know whether that's the generic name given to the whole family of cards or whether it's detecting it as a normal ZS card.

Am I doing something silly? Is there some option to enable the external unit? Does anyone have the same sound card and has got it working?

Cheers!

Did you connect the power cable internally to the PCI card? (if it has one, think i have audigy 2 plat. eX which does have one)

Sounds like what happens to me as the molex connection is a bit dodgy and drops out when it wants.

Should certainly have one.

Sounds like the external unit isnt getting any power. are there red lights behind either of the optical out bays?

Another thing to do is go to the soundblaster website and go on auto update as it will detect the card you have.

Cheers guys, I'll try the auto-update tonight.

There isn't an external power supply for the unit - it's all feed via a proprietary cable connected to the sound card. It all worked fine under Windows XP x64 too.
