Audigy 2 zs problem

Just recently I started getting crackling noises through my speakers or headphones, whatever I was using at the time. It even happens when my computer is idle.

I thought the drivers had gone a bit screwy, so I uninstalled drivers, then used Driver Cleaner. Re-installed drivers, updated to the latest ones then for a couple of minutes it was fine, then it went back to the crackling again.

Dont think ive done anything wrong. Ive not even altered any settings on my comp, so its really got me baffled.

Any ideas anyone?

reseat the card perhaps. even try another slot?

I'll give that a go and see what happens. If its still the same then maybe there could be something wrong with the card in which case it will give me the excuse to upgrade
