Recently my audigy card has cut out at random moments, for example, when an mp3 starts i hear nothing, its not until i move the slider foward i can hear the track, and when i run mp3s under a game, the sound trips out and goes to a very high pitched noise...no crash, just noise distortion...

turning off cmss 3d has lessened it, but it still pursists...

im using the 9th of oct new drivers from the creative website...

is this a common problem? or is my audigy 2 zs just knackered...

I just popped in here to post a question about this very card.

Figured it might be better to post in here rather than start a new thread.

I also have an issues.

Everything appears to be working fine except I can't access the graphic equalizer. It just say "The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit."

Anyone know how to sort this?

I don't mean to hijack this thread, so many apologies to the thread starter.

There are alternative hacked drivers that sorted out my Audigy 2ZS when it went weird. I have used them ever since, they include all the Creative Media Source stuff as well. They can be a little hard to find past this int google:

file2.mydrivers.com/sound/PAX-NewYear2005.rar

you should then be able to get the link okay...

Link still works, I just checked, try it out before you give up on the card, they totally fixed my problems.

Yes its correct, its a huge file but has all the Media Source stuff, as well as drivers etc. It has an install option for all the different types of Audigy including the notebook version - if I remember rightly.

Let me know if it works!

nope, that didnt do it

i tried it by running winamp under rainbow six vegas

it worked for a while then the sound tripped out and starting it high pitched wail...

i seem to be able to lessen it by turning of cmss sound thingy and then lowering sound hardware accleration by one notch, but meh, cant win them all, can anyone reccomend a really good soundcard to go for????
