Audigy 2 ZS

With Logitech z5500's I'd say the sound quality would be noticeably better with the Audigy :) . I'm not sure if the mobo sound would have EAX either if that bothers you?

Onboard audio uses the CPU to process sound, this can cause at least some slowdown in games or apps, BF2 takes a fair impact to frame rates with full sound enabled

Ok, so i guess i will keep my soundcard and install it in the new system then. One thing that bugs me. I would like to get COAX digital 6 channel sound in windows. Sorry if that makes no sense...

When playing games like cs:source, i have to switch the logi's to 6channel direct input. I would like to use COAX though as this (being digital) is higher quality non?

Using digital your just shifting the DAC conversion onto the speaker set rather than using the soundcards DAC. I'm not really sure which would be better, but if you have noise problems sometimes using a digital connection can help :)

Quality is generally a hell of a lot better using an expansion card. Plus you're freeing up a few more cpu cycles.

What is the difference in terms of quality, from using COAX and 6channel input in windows. I wish games were made to support digital audio (Dolby).

In order for me to acheive the best possible audio configuration from the following components, can someone please tell me best way to connect.

Audigy 2 zs, logitech z5500, windows vista.

im not sure im acheiving the best audio experience. i listen to a lot of mp3s so i want to sound sweet :))

thx
