audigy and x-fi, what is the difference in games?

I was toying with getting a x-fi sound card, i have the audigy2 at the moment. i only play games through my computer speakers (i have THX cert computer speakers). is there going to be a noticable difference between them?

I upgraded in the exact same manner you've described above. Once you've enable the games mode of the X-Fi I noticed Quake 4 and Doom 3 sounded much better.
