audio bitrate changer?

Looking for a freeware program which will let me batch change a group of mp3's from 256kbs to 128kbs.....

iTunes could do it for you, but you could also look at a program called Max

Repeated for truth, always re-encode from the master source if possible.

But, if not possible, MAX as previously mentioned should do the trick, or anything based on LAME should help.
