Quick background: got an Arctis 5 for Christmas which I intended to use USB as my onboard was bad and couldn't use headset and speakers. I also got the ASUS Xonar soundcard which was awesome with my Siberia's but the Arctis 5 is a combo headset/mic jack.
All my jacks are either input or output on my sound card, I don't have a combo jack. I looked at the official SteelSeries splitter which was £6.99 - but I'm not paying £10.99 shipping from SteelSeries for a cable.
Bought one linked from a friend, JSAUX (looks like a regular "multi-brand" adapter)
My issue: Headset mic has audio bleeding from the speakers. It works fine over USB and using the combo jack included on my work PC.
If I use USB on my personal PC it's fine.
It's only an issue when using the adapter, possibly poor shielding?
Finding an adapter that isn't the same as every other adapter with a different name is quite difficult.
Any adapters that I can expect to work properly, or do I need to suck it up and grab the official one?
