audio drivers help please

Hi i have just built a second PC using a Biostar VIA K8M800-M7A motherboard and an xp 3000 all has installed correctly but I cant get any sound ! in device manager i get a yellow mark next to other devices -multimedia audio contoller and when i run the find new hardware it sees it but cant find a driver .I downloaded and installed the realtek AC 97 and still no joy any ideas anybody please? the board has onboard AC97 SOUND -REALTEK ALC655 compliant with AC97 version 2.3 spec

yes i have downloaded those bot windows wont use them even though they are definitely showing in program files-is their a chance i havent enabled onboard sound yet?

Could be. You might want to go into the BIOS next time you reboot and see if the onboard sound is enabled.

been into bios it says it is on auto and lists it as a VIA 3058 AC97 audio any ideas?
