I'm looking for an audio editor which I can use to record mixes and chop up mp3s etc. I really don't get on with GarageBand, Logic is a bit too advanced and Audacity is a bit too basic. Anything inbetween lol?

Some large volume meters would be a bonus so I can get an idea of how loud it's coming through at a quick glance when mixing.

Cool Edit/Soundforge worked great on Windows but there dosen't seem to be anything similar for the Mac?

Cheers.

Soundtrack at a guess but it means buying Logic as its bundled with it, though not sure about multitracking (if that's what you're after) as I never master with Soundtrack or use it with more than one track at a time when I'm sampling. There's Peak by Bias as well.

Yeah I don't wanna be spending hundreds with Logic etc.

Tried Peak Pro before and it was always crashing, i've just had a look though and the LE version is only $30 or so, so I might give it another go.

Just installing a demo of TwistedWave which looks like it'll do the job. :)
