audio from bluetooth/wireless headphones and tv at same time?

not sure if this is possible but if it's i'm sure there's someone on here will know how

and apologies if there's already an answer kicking about on here for it.

my folks (both in their 70's) have a sony KDL 40V5810 (getting on a bit but no need to change it) which has a cheapo creative speaker set hooked to it via 3.5mm jack which helps with the quality of the sound.

my father's hearing is no longer what it used to be and he struggles to enjoy tv/films/sport etc. so I was wondering if there was a way to have 2 audio outputs from the tv or even the sky hd box?

I was hoping to be able to get him a set of Bluetooth or wireless headphones so he can listen to the tv while still having the audio coming from the speakers for my mum, or anyone else who happens to be in the room.
sky hd box is connected to the tv via hdmi with the tv audio coming through the speakers via the 3.5mm jack (I think it's the headphone out jack) - i'm wondering is there something I can plug into the back of the sky box to allow this to happen?

You'll need a Bluetooth transmitter with an optical input.

That will give you sound from the TV via its speakers and via Bluetooth at the same time.

could you suggest such a device as googling that doesn't really help much?

would connecting an RF headset (via transmitter) to the red/white audio out on the sky box work too?

Dont go for the cheaper DACs as they dont last long or give bad sound I have found. Also make sure the headphones have a volume control as the sound level from the optical out is set.

thanks for the link and the reply but when i add the cost of a good headset it's probably a bit more than i want to be spending. but i'll keep it in mind.

The RF method should work too.
