Strange issue here, that I am hoping someone can help with....
Recorded a chunk of programming on our V+HD box a while back, and wanted to take it off there and onto my PC. So, I had a KWorld DVBT210SE TV card kicking around, and duly plugged it in and ran a cable (3x RCA) from the V+ box to the inputs on the the tv/capture card.
Fired up Nero 10 and got the source showing in the capture element of the software, then set the V+ box to copy off the recording (this is a V+ function, nestled in the menus !). All seemed to be capturing fine, so left it overnight (about 6hrs of footage in the recording)......checked in the morning and a file had been created
Anywhoooo, upon opening the file (defaulted to WMP) I had video but no sound; tried a few other programs (e.g. Nero, Cyberlink) and there was no audio heard in any. Capture was made on default DVD settings, so we are talking MPEG-2....and herein lies the problem, I suspect.
Loading the file into a video editor, the audio is recognised as 48Khz 130kbps mp2 format.......perhaps this is my issue ?
I have tried converting the file through a few different transcoders, including an audio only attempt, but - in all cases - no audio can be heard, although the file details seem to suggest there is an audio track
