i'm looking to start up doing twitch streaming and finding the audio control to be poor that windows offers. when it gets to the streaming software it's just coming through as one audio source that i can either increase or decrease the volume.

i'm hoping to be able to have some sort of control over the audio that's playing on my pc, and decide the volume that's played to the stream, and the volume that's played out of my speakers independently, as for instance i'm trying to play music for the quiet moments, but i don't need the song playing for myself, and then some moments i want the game to be quiet for myself, but still a decent volume for the viewers.

anyone know of a software that does this? i'm trying to google but keep coming up with audio editing software and not mixer software.

As above voicemeeter stuff is very good for that sort of thing. Can be a bit fiddly at times when setting it up the way you want, but once up and running it’s been rock solid for me.

for example, I use it to combine the usb audio output of my piano and the audio out of my camcorder into a single audio stream which I then use as the single microphone input in video calls. That way I can mix the piano and voice audio on the fly and still get decent quality.

in return, I only hear through my speakers the audio from the other caller and not my piano / voice at all.
