Hello all
During Lockdown 1.0 and now 2.0 my son became more and more interested in creating videos. Some of this was necessary as part of his school work and after school activities but he really got into it and began to create videos for his hobbies and this has began to expand his ideas.
With Christmas approaching he has asked for an action camera, I initially looked at a GoPro but he has been looking at the cheaper Akasa range as he wants two cameras for a multi camera setup.
I have also been thinking about getting him something for audio as currently his videos have been recorded on my phone, the image quality is fine but onboard audio sucks and that is going to be the same again. I am thinking of maybe getting him a lapel microphone and an audio recorder. He can then sync the audio in Da Vinci Resolve when he does his edit. My thinking is that he records fitness and taekwondo videos so a lapel mic would be the more appropriate than other types of mic.
Does anyone have a similar setup and recommendations. Budget wise the missus and I were looking at £200-£250 for a GoPro so I would imagine we want to keep top that sort of total cost of the cheaper cameras and any audio equipment.
Thanks for reading.
