hey all, so i have windows 7 64 bit, 2500k, with a sabertooth p67 motherboard. Im using the built in realtek sound. (which is a pain in the ass) i currently use a tv as a monitor, and it is connected via HDMI lead. there is no audio coming through. when I look in audio manager, the correct device, the HDMI one, says that it is unplugged, which is BS, if it was unplugged I would lack a display too. I run a Radeon HD4870 graphics card too. realteks audio manager was no help either, cant get the damned thing working.
any helps appreciated. thanks

i dont have a sound card unfortunately im just using built in. it is plugged in to the adapter supplied by amd and it is plugged in to the graphics card, not the motherboard :/

pop in the bios and set onboard audio to ac97,then re install the realtek drivers

you should get sound then,ac97 and hd audio is exactly the same soundwise, its just ac97 isnt jack detecting thats all

superstar. fixed my problem exactly. didnt even have to re install the drivers, but i will as a precaution anyway. cheers
