I got a new 3070 2 weeks ago, no other changes to my system other than doing a clean install of nvidia drivers. However since installing the card I have no audio on a cold boot and have to restart boot for a second time for audio to work

Ive googled this problem which appeared to be quite common associated with windows fast boot, thing is I don't have fast boot enabled.

Anyone any ideas?

What are you using for the audio though ? Needs more information

eg is it a soundcard, is it a usb headset, is it monitor speakers (did you install the HDMI sound driver ?)

It's likely what's said above, that it's switching to graphics audio (hdmi) ^^ What control centre thing do you have for audio, is it Realtek?

Agree, check to see if the Nvidia card you installed is defaulting your windows sound to be it's HDMI audio or grabbing priority on cold boot for some reason. Might be easier to disable it in windows sound options.

Realtek alc1220 onboard audio chip with hdmi 2.1 cable. Yes reinstalled both realtek drivers and Nvidia drivers
