Audio Problems via HDMI to PC

Currently my pc is connected to an Iiyama monitor via hdmi cable, it is transmitting a visual but no sound, is their an option in control panel somewhere i have to select to switch. There is an option on the monitor to switch from line in, to HDMI, Line in works but not HDMI. Any thoughts
 
How is the Line In connected? Separate cable from the PC?

You'll probably have to change the audio options on the PC to enable output over HDMI.
 
Control Panel > Large/Small Icons Option > Sounds > In the playback tab select the audio option you want and press set default.

That any help?
 
Some TV's have an option in the menu which enables PC audio I think. I have this same problem though, HDMI out set as default and no sound :( I ended up just plugging in some external speakers.
 
It would help if you told us what graphics card you are using.

Or if you're using on board graphics what the motherboard is.

Also is your connection HDMI to HDMI or are you using any sort of adapter.
