I have an original Xbox (1st generation) that includes a component cable. My new TV (samsung HDTV 27") has composite-in. So I wanted to connect the composite cables (blue, red and green) to the composite-in, and the 2 audio cables (red and white) to the audio-in of the TV. I've checked that all cables are connected to the correct connectors, and set the switch of the cable to Composite.
Now the problem is that I can't get any sound. It only works when I set the switch to AV, but then I can't use component. I did notice that there is an optical-out located on the connector that is connected to the xbox, but I don't have any optical-in or Coax connection on my TV. Is there any way to use component AND get audio at the same time?
