Heyy

In need of a new PC since my old one is on its way out, and i'll be mainly using it for music production, but also to watch DVD's/TV and various other multimedia things, and was just wondering if anyone could help me out on what specs/parts would be suitable for such a rig?

I wouldn't like to build it myself since it's been years since I have, and so would probably phone up OC's and see if they could build it on site, the extra cost would save me a lot of hassle.

The mobo would also need a spare PCI slot as I have a firewire card that needs to be put in for my audio interface, a fair few USB ports wouldnt go a miss either (for peripherals like keyboards, drum pads etc etc).

Don't need a monitor or anything.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers!

Edit: Sound card doesnt need to be anything fancy as I have an external one that will be used!

Woops! also forgot to put my budget, due to not having a great deal in funds a very maximum of 500 quid is what I'm looking to spend, tight, i know. :(

You should go i7 as a start.

Are you going to be using lots of audio samples? If you are, consider getting as much ram as you can afford and research your hard drive options, raptors or solid state drives would be good options if you can fit them in the budget.
