Hi,

appreciate anyone's help with a build

I have been thinking of a new audio rig (so i'm trying to make it quiet too) for a few days and wanted some advice on these parts i intend to purchase possibly in the future months.

The main confusion is working out the PSU requirement (i expect the rig to last 5 years minimum. I'm not looking to overclock).
i have tried using http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine and it quoted me 400W and so i suspect I'm doing some thing wrong.

also to seek the forum's knowledge of any obvious incompatibility/inefficiencies or better recommendations on hardware (with cost in mind).

this racked up to about £650, in which if possible would like to bring it down (i told the mrs i was gonna spend about 550!)

- Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - the 750 is 5 pound less, is there much difference?

- Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3R Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard - me being a brand monkey!

- Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit - me being a brand monkey!

- Fractal Design Define R2 Midi Tower Case - looks like a quiet nice looking case

- Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD502HJ) - heard samsung's are the quietest

- Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet CPU Cooler (754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/775/1156/1366) - looks quiet?

- Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4350 512MB DDR2 PCI-E Graphics Card Low Profile - i'm after a fanless card to keep the noise down,

- Zalman ZM600-HP Heatpipe Cooled 600W Modular Power Supply [ZM600-HP] - dunno why but i got zalman in my head since i seen the cpu cooler

## Future requirements (this is where i am unsure about the PSU requirement)
2nd graphics card (again, another fanless)
extra 4gb RAM (bringing total to 8gb)
sound card
2nd hard disk (1-2tb)

cheers

A good solid speed there, I would recommend Wetsern Digital or Seagate Hard drives over the Samsung as they have a few lower failure rate. The Fractal case is an excellent choice, comes with plenty of HDD bays and sound dampening as standard. I would recommend the Asus Xonar D2X for a sound card, very good quality and excellent driver support. Just avoid Creative sound cards for anything other than gaming.
