Audio quality From PC>Wireless XB1 controller>Wired Headphones?

Obviously this isn't going to blow an expert away, but for general gaming, if I invest in a decent set of headphones (looking at the HD599 Deal) what can I expect when plugging them into my Controllers Jack which then connects wirelessly to my PC? (Latest version of the controller and dongle)

What other factors come into play? My aging motherboard has some onboard Realtek stuff I guess, does that matter here? I'm guessing not.

Just wondering if it's worth me buying these headphones when used in a manner like this. I cant plug them in to the PC directly due to distance as its hooked up to the TV.

Any tips appreciated, again I know it's not the best way to go, but will it be good enough for a general user?

I can't see how plugging a £90 pair of headphones into the cheap as chips sound output of a XBox controller would ever be a recommended route to good sound.

I wasn't suggesting it would be the recommended route at all, I'm definitely no expert in this area though. Sounds like going for these would be a waste then based on the scenario provided, thanks.

May consider some wireless ones, just these seemed a good deal and wondered what I could hope to expect to gain from them sitting far back from a physical connection

I take that back, the HD599's are nearly £200 headphones. They come with a 3m cable - plug them into a proper piece of audio gear or something

If you want a good pair of headphones and connect them to a decent source - buy them.
If you want to play while plugged into an xbox controller, buy a cheaper set.

Just seems a really good value, but yeah that's probably a bit impractical for my current set up

* what about paired with a soundblaster Omni? Thinking of one of those for my sonos system to gain 5.1 from the PC.. 3m isnt too long right?
