Audio Quality? (iTouch)

This is a bit of a strange question, but I'm wondering what quality mp3s people tend to keep on there mp3 players? Also is there a noticable difference between 128kbps and 192kbps?

If you're using the standard headphones then I wouldn't worry about mp3 quality. If you've upgraded to something like etymotics or shures then then I'd go for as high quality as you could.

LAME variable bit rate (V2).

Everyone will say yes, but whenever proper blind tests are carried out, most are surprised that they in fact cannot. (Assuming a decent encoder). Lossless is for archival and serious playback. MP3 is for small file size.

192 to 320kps. That's what I use on my iTunes library.

I use Apple Lossless with Etymotics on the move. Usually up to 1,100kbps.
